How to register to vote in New Jersey

Can I register to vote?

To register in New Jersey for the 2026 midterm election on Nov. 3, you must be:

• A United States citizen

• 18 years old by November 3, 2026 (Election Day).

• A resident of your New Jersey county for 30 days before the election

• Not serving a sentence of incarceration as the result of a conviction of any indictable offense under the laws of any US state, or of the United States.

If you fulfill the requirements above, visit the NJ Division of Elections to register or to download a paper application.
