Mission

​

OneNJ7 provides coordination, resources, training, and tools to fuel a powerful and aligned district-wide movement to organize for change.  Our goal is to defeat the rightwing takeover of the American government and win an inclusive democracy and fight for bold progressive policies.

Method

​

The leadership team of OneNJ7 have been active members of the seasoned, grassroots groups in the district.  We respect the difficult work and productive action each group and member has accomplished in the last eight years.

We have spoken with leaders of grassroots organizations all across the district; they agree, leveraging the efforts of the network is critical to protect democracy.

 

Through productive communication we will learn best practices in the movement, and what strengths each group has.  We will collaborate, choosing which actions to share, and supporting actions by other groups where mutual goals exist.  We know people are committed to better representation and together we will work to develop a wide strategy to give democratic candidates the best chance of winning.​

Our History

​

OneNJ7 was founded in late 2021, following the redistricting of New Jersey’s congressional districts after the 2020 Census.

The new maps reshaped New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District, bringing together communities across multiple counties and dramatically changing the district’s political landscape. In response, local residents recognized the need for a coordinated, district-wide grassroots organization focused on civic engagement, accountability, and representation.

OneNJ7 was formed to unite these communities, empower voters, and build sustained, people-powered action across the district. Since its founding, OneNJ7 has worked to educate constituents, mobilize volunteers, and advocate for leadership that reflects the values and needs of NJ-07.
